Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-08. This page explains what Num Games collects about you, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it to be read by students: if something is unclear, write to us at [TO FILL: contact email, e.g. privacy@mynumgames.com].
The short version
- You can browse Num Games without an account. To download games you need a free account: email, password and a username.
- At sign-up we ask a few questions (country, and optional ones like your school level or which calculator you have). Only your country is required.
- We measure how the site is used without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
- We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, we don’t share your data with advertisers, and we don’t use it to train AI.
- You can download all your data or delete your account at any time from your account page.
Who is responsible
The controller of your data is [TO FILL: full name of the person, or company name and legal form, publishing Num Games], [TO FILL: postal address of the publisher] (“we”). Contact: [TO FILL: contact email, e.g. privacy@mynumgames.com]. Full details are in the legal notice.
What we collect, why, and on what legal basis
| Data | Why | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Account: email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), username | To create your account, let you sign in and download games, and keep your preferences. | Contract (art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Required sign-up answer: your country | The age at which you can agree to this on your own depends on the country; we also use it in statistics. | Legal obligation and contract (art. 6(1)(b)–(c), art. 8) |
| Optional sign-up answers: school level, class/year, school name, region, city, calculators you own, how you found us, games you like, whether you write Python on your calculator | To understand who uses Num Games and choose which games to make next. You can skip any of them and change or erase them later. | Consent (art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time |
| Optional email news: about Num Games, and separately about Pumpkino AI | To tell you about new games, or about our other app, only if you ticked the box. | Consent (art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Downloads and installs: which game, version and calculator model, when, from which account | To give you the right file, show your download history, count downloads and prevent abuse. | Contract and legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(b), (f)) |
| Calculator details during an install: model, Epsilon version, number of installed apps, free space, names of apps you remove | To install correctly and see which calculators and versions work. The installed apps are read by your browser; only the details listed here are sent to us. | Contract and legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(b), (f)) |
| Site usage: pages and games viewed, searches, install steps and errors, the site that sent you (and campaign tags in the link), device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language, country (derived from your IP address, which we don’t store), a visitor code that changes every day, a visit code that lasts while the tab is open | Audience measurement: to see what works and improve the site. Not linked to your account unless you choose so. | Legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)); no consent banner needed under the CNIL exemption for audience measurement |
| Optional: link my activity to my account | If you tick it, the usage above is attached to your account so we can see how players use the site. | Consent (art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Bug reports and game requests: what you write, your calculator and browser, and an email if you give one | To fix bugs and answer you. | Legitimate interest; consent for the email |
| Security logs kept by our host and database provider (including IP addresses) | To keep the service running and secure. | Legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)) |
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don’t show ads. If that ever changes, ads would be non-personalized, and anything that needs your consent would be asked first, with a “Reject” button as easy as “Accept”.
- We don’t use your data to train artificial-intelligence models, and we don’t send it to AI services that would. If we ever use an AI tool to help read bug reports, we will remove your email and username first and only use tools that don’t train on what we send.
- We don’t make automated decisions about you.
- We don’t use third-party trackers, social media pixels or advertising cookies.
Students under 15 and parents
In France, if you are under 15, a parent or guardian must agree before you create an account (in other countries the age is between 13 and 16, depending on the country). The sign-up form asks you to confirm this. Parents can contact us at [TO FILL: contact email, e.g. privacy@mynumgames.com] to see or delete their child’s data.
One sign-in for Num Games and Pumpkino AI
Num Games is made by the same team as Pumpkino AI, and the two apps share the same sign-in service. Your email and password therefore work on both, and changing them on one changes them on the other. Everything else stays separate: your Num Games answers, downloads and activity are not shared with Pumpkino AI. Pumpkino AI has its own privacy policy and its own age rules. We will only send you news about Pumpkino AI if you tick that box. Deleting your Num Games account removes your Num Games data; if you also want the shared sign-in deleted, write to us.
Cookies and storage on your device
We don’t use cookies. The site stores a few things in your browser’s storage: your sign-in session and your preferences (needed for the site to work), and a visit code for audience measurement that is erased when you close the tab. None of this needs a consent banner. If we ever add something that does, we will ask first, and refusing will be as easy as accepting.
Who processes data for us
Your data is stored by Supabase in London, United Kingdom. The full list of providers, what they do and where, is on the subprocessors page.
How long we keep it
- Account and answers: until you delete your account.
- Site usage: 13 months at most, then deleted.
- Downloads: kept for statistics; when you delete your account they are no longer linked to you.
- Bug reports and requests: while useful to the project; your email is erased when you delete your account.
- Security logs: short periods set by our providers.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Personal answers can only be read by you and by the Num Games team, through a protected admin page that requires a team account and a PIN. We don’t hold security certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell the CNIL within 72 hours and tell you when required.
Your rights
You can at any time: see and download your data (account page, “Download my data”), correct it (account page), delete your account (account page, “Delete my account”), withdraw consent for optional answers and emails, object to usage measurement, and ask us to restrict processing. Write to [TO FILL: contact email, e.g. privacy@mynumgames.com]; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your country’s data protection authority.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the version date and ask you to accept it again the next time you sign in.
